Forough Qajabagli crowned best actress at Beijing Film Festival

Iranian actress Forough Qajabagli has won the Best Actress award at the 9th edition of the Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) in China.

Qajabagli was crowned the best actress for her role in ‘Tehran: City of Love’ directed by Ali Jaber-Ansari.

The film narrates the story of three lonely people who are in search of warmth and connection in the megacity of Tehran.

Last month, the film won the Young Jury Award at the 23rd Sofia International Film Festival in Bulgaria.

The 9th BIFF, one of the world’s most prominent festivals, took place on April 13-20, 2019.
